Coyu is the name of war of Iván Ramos, a versatile young guy born in the Summer of 1985, Barcelona. Vinyl and writing lover, he's one of the most talented artists of the current European music scene. As DJ, Coyu is daring, eclectic and innovative, he always stares at the future, although he lives the present and learns from the past. Label owner of Suara and Atypical Farm and with a well-know career as musical journalist, promoter and booking agent on the past, Coyu is a multifaceted artist involved in the electronic music scene since many years ago. The international aclaim as producer arrived with "El Baile Alemán" along his partner Edu Imbernon released in liebe*detail last Spring'09. Artists, media and clubbers supported that big dancefloor bomb inmediately. It was overall #1 on Beatport 2009, top5 on most charted tracks ever on Resident Advisor and played by Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Sven Väth, Loco Dice, Marco Carola and all the current international star system. During all 2009 he was releasing big stuff along Edu or Uner on big labels like Diynamic Music, Great Stuff, Saved Records, 2020Vision, Trapez or Cr2. This stuff was also supported by huge DJs like Luciano, Laurent Garnier, Âme, Mark Knight, Dennis Ferrer, Matthew Dear or DJ Hell. During 2009 was touring all Europe playing and showing his skills as DJ. Least but not the last, Coyu got 6 nominations on the Dance Spanish Awards 09 called Deejaymags at the endings of 2009. He was nominated as Best DJ, Best Newcomer DJ, Best Newcomer Producer, Best Track (El Baile Aleman / Raw Sweat), Best Label (Suara). 2010 is starting to be a big year for him: won two Deejaymags awards, did his first Northamerican tour and will release some stuff on big labels like Get Physical, Rebirth, Noir Music or Tronic.

Coyu es el nombre de guerra de Iván Ramos, polifacético joven nacido en el verano de 1985. Amante de la escritura y el vinilo, es uno de los más talentosos artistas de la actual escena electrónica europea. Como DJ, Coyu destaca por ser atrevido, ecléctico e innovador, mira siempre hacia el futuro, aunque tiene totalmente en cuenta el presente y, sobretodo, el pasado. Sin embargo, él no es un simple DJ, sino que ha trabajado como periodista musical, agente de booking, es el manager de los sellos Suara y Atypical Farm y tiene un grandísimo potencial como productor. El aclamo internacional lo consiguió con "El Baile Alemán", realizado junto a su compañero Edu Imbernón y editado en liebe*detail en la primavera del 2009. Fue su primer número 1 general en Beatport, pero seguro que no será el último. Además, ha editado en sellos tan relevantes como Diynamic Music, Great Stuff, Saved Records, 2020Vision o Cr2 y lo hará en otros igual de importantes como es el caso de Get Physical, Rebirth, Noir Music o Tronic. La música de Coyu es apoyada y pinchada por artistas como Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Loco Dice, DJ Hell, Axwell, Mark Knight, Dennis Ferrer, Marco Carola y todo el actual star system internacional del house y el techno. Durante todo el año estuve actuando a lo largo de Europa, demostrando su habilidad a los platos. A finales de año obtuvo 6 nominaciones a los premios nacionales de la música electrónica, Deejaymags 09 como mejor dj, mejor dj revelación, mejor productor revelación, mejor tema "El Baile Alemán" / "Raw Sweat", y mejor sello "Suara" Ganó 2, el de mejor productor revelación -junto a Edu Imbernón- y el de tema más vendido. Es el mejor comienzo que podría tener, al cual se le suma su primer tour por Norteamérica y muchos nuevas actuaciones alrededor del mundo. 2010 será sin duda un gran año para él.


Su musica del carajo! No he dejado de escucharla. Musica fresca, con ritmo y groove. Es la onda perfecta.
